THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ACEH AND INDIAN OCEAN STUDIES (ICAIOS)
BANDA ACEH, INDONESIA, 8-9 AUGUST 2016
 
After successful, scholarly, and internationally well-attended series of five conferences on Aceh and Indian Ocean (regional) studies, the 6th biannual conference will be held on 8-9 August 2016 in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, co-organized by the center, Syiah Kuala University, and Universita degli studi di Milano Bicocca, Italy. The venue will be in Darussalam Campus of Syiah Kuala’s.
ICAIOS VI will critically assess the long-term socio-economic and environmental reconstruction and recovery in post-conflict and post-disaster Aceh and regions surrounding the Indian Ocean.
ICAIOS invites extended-abstract submission(s) and panel proposals on base research as well as applied research and policy inquiries into the nature of “work” “livelihood”, and “economy” and how they have (been) understood, shaped, changed, helped,or distracted the environment, social structure, and the post-conflict and post-disaster reconstruction and long-term recovery in the regions. Researches related to the issues in the broadercontext of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) are also welcome. Comparative studies of the topic with other regions will also be considered.
